Domain 4: Conflict Resolution & Policy

Domain 4: Conflict Resolution & Policy prepares HR and operations staff to recognize workplace conflict early and respond to it within clear policy boundaries. The course covers identifying the early signs of a disagreement that is affecting work, mediating a conversation between two team members fairly, and applying HR policy consistently instead of improvising a response under pressure. It treats policy as a tool for fairness, not an obstacle to resolving the underlying issue. This course is for HR coordinators, team leads, and operations staff who may need to step into a disagreement between colleagues or apply a workplace policy to a real situation. You will practice recognizing when a conflict needs a structured conversation rather than an informal word, mediating a discussion so both sides are heard, and applying a relevant policy consistently rather than selectively. Scenarios include a disagreement over credit for shared work, a policy violation with mitigating context, and a conflict that has started to affect other team members. Activities include mediation scripts, policy-application exercises, and scenario-based decision checks. By the end, you should be able to intervene in a workplace conflict calmly, apply policy fairly and consistently, and maintain a professional environment where disagreements get resolved instead of ignored until they escalate.
