Domain 2: Team Communication & Documentation

Domain 2: Team Communication & Documentation focuses on the internal habits that keep a remote team coordinated without constant meetings. The course covers setting communication norms for different situations, writing documentation that a teammate can actually use later, and transferring knowledge when someone moves roles or leaves a project. It treats documentation as a communication skill, not paperwork: the goal is always a reader who can act without asking the original author. This course is for HR and operations staff, team leads, and coordinators who rely on written updates, shared files, or handoff notes to keep work moving across time zones. You will practice choosing the right channel for a message, writing a status update that answers the questions a reader will actually have, and structuring a knowledge-transfer document so a successor is not left guessing. Scenarios include a handoff with no notice, a decision that was never written down, and a team that has three versions of the same process. Activities include message and documentation rewrites, a knowledge-transfer template, and short scenario checks. By the end, you should be able to communicate internally with less friction, write documentation other people will actually use, and reduce the risk that useful knowledge disappears when a person or project changes. The course closes with a practical standard: if a teammate cannot find the answer in writing, the documentation is not finished yet.
